Tim Tanker

Tim Tanker (aka Timmy Tanker aka Tim Wengertsman) is a crust punk artist living in the mountains of Maine. Originally from Hartford CT, he has been heavily involved in the punk scene as a drummer for the bands such as Oiltanker and Condemned. Tim is a woodcut printer and a someone who is obsessed with drawing and creating art. He uses his art to tell his own story but also amplifies the stories of voiceless people in our society. Tim makes art geared towards the underground subcultures of our society. Tim was an art major with a strong focus on printmaking at Hartford Art school where he was heavily influenced by punk rock art, record covers, flyers among notable artists such as Kathe Kollwitz, Ralph Steadman as well as Byzantine religious art.
