In 1989, when Billie Joe & Mike Dirnt still had long hair, they played in 924 Gilman Street with the Mr. T Experience.

As a token of his energy and influence, Murray Bowles was drawn into the top centre of the Green Day 'Dookie' album cover. He photographed very early days of Green Day when they were an upcoming punk band playing sweaty shows in Gilman Street. Here is the third of a series of classic, historical Green Day photos in their blossoming youth taken by the late, great Murray.
